Studio availability at Welch Street Studios
Presently all ten studios are rented. We do not have studio space available for 2026 but something might arise. In the past on occasion a studio will come available. See below the application form if you wish to go on our waiting list.
What is Welch Street Studios
Our studios are located on the second floor at 1178 and 1180 Welch Street in North Vancouver. The studios are intended to be used as a working space for local artists. We offer full time art studios for individual artists sharing a space in a collective consisting of eleven artists located. Artists rent individual studios and are mostly painters working in oils and acrylics, and watercolours. Some artists also work in mix media, photography, ceramic, 3D sculpture, and offer art prints and art ware. All art is original and made by local artists.
Each artist has a personal art wall located outside their studio in the hallway.
Our shared facilities offer 3 kitchens and 3 washrooms. There is also a wash up room for brush cleaning and a private shower. All studios come with overhead lighting, heating and air conditioning.
The studios are not intended for the following.
We do not offer studios to artists who are interested in the following;
working with heavy manufacturing or production line work
excessive noise, hammering, making fumes or using unusual flammable products
conducting group art classes or workshops
more that two artists sharing one studio
studios intended to be used only as a sales boutique or office space
we do not offer temporary space, or offer sharing rented space
How to apply to our Studio Waiting List
If you wish, you can apply to our waiting list by filling out the studio application form.
If you have already done this thank you, and we will keep your application in our records. When a studio comes available we will contact applicants. We will keep your information private and use it only for future studio rentals reference. Studio rentals start on a one year signed lease. After one year the lease continues on a monthly basis. Rentals range from approximately $400 to $1000 per month depending on the location and size of the studio that is available.
